I just got the Purple Tank. It is my 1st urethane ball but I’ll tell anyone, if they are looking for a ball that grips and rips, it would be this ball. I shot a 206 out of the box with it not really knowing how it would react. Even if you don’t hit your mark perfectly, the motion from the Tank goes through the pins leaving you wanting more strikes. I would highly recommend this ball especially if you have only bowled with balls from just one other company and want to have a good switch in your arsenal.
That being said, I bowled with it on 35 board pitching it to the 10 board and it comes back effortlessly. The few shots that I tried to push more to the 5 board should’ve went into the ditch but the Tank pulled through and came back. Can’t wait to use it in my home alley tonight to see how well I do.

The BEST PURPLE URETHANE! The layout I used on the Purple Tank is 60x4x20. The Purple Tank is special, because unlike most urethanes, this one can shape the lane. I have had plenty of success with urethane balls over the past few years and have drilled plenty of them. The most common problem with urethane when you are throwing it is lane shine. A lot of modern urethane balls lane shine fast, however this one does seem to keep its finish a lot better than most. A Tank Blitz and a Purple Tank are perfect for fresh oil patterns. Being a lefty, you can bet I will have a bag mixed with red and purple!
The Purple Tank is going to be that missing piece in your bag when previous released urethane balls don’t make the cut or when other urethane pieces are leaving you with flat 7 / 10 pins. The Purple Tank has no issues clearing burnt out heads yet still looks for any friction down lane and hits harder than some reactive pieces I own.
The most impressive characteristic about the Purple Tank is its hitting power and continuation through the pin deck for a “urethane “ ball. I will definitely be adding a few more or these to my arsenal with different drilling angles to help make my game “relevant” on some of today’s shorter patterns.

First night I pulled it out, it was like the first date, awkward, everyone staring at you being with someone out of your league and if you’re anything like me, it didn’t last long. Was uncomfortable playing so straight at first and was not getting a good release. luckily it’s legal to just put her in a bag until the second date. That’s when the magic happens. I had a night of practice with it coming in to the second date and oh were we the talk of the town. It digs the entire way and never stops. She’s definitely beefy but like wagyu beefy not pbr black angus bull beefy. Nice and smooth from first taste to 10 pins down. Even in late Saturday night after countless slips, house balls etc, give her a little loft and it’s back to buisiness. ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE!

The brand new Purple Tank is Motiv's newest true urethane ball since the Tank Rampage. This ball allows the player to stay close to the friction without over reaction. For me, I can stay right and close to the edge, knowing that it will hook when I throw out there. Compared to the Covert Tank and Tank Blitz, the purple will be the smoothest because of the urethane coverstock. It has the potential to let the player move left and swing the lane when the condition is a little dryer. This is the perfect ball, if you're looking for a ball for a short pattern as well as a dryer house shot. Let me know in the comments what your favorite balls is in the Tank series!
