Since 2017, the legendary Jackal Ghost has been reigning terror on heavy oil. It's the longest running asymmetric bowling ball in the world!

With paranormal performance, the Jackal Ghost delivers more total hook potential than any Jackal before it.  It's scary good! The Predator V2 weight block is at the core of MOTIV's Jackal Ghost bowling ball. Featuring a low RG and loads of differential, this asymmetric design is easy to rev and produces massive track flare.

Predator V2 Asymmetrical

The Predator V2 is a proven winner—MOTIV’s most dominant high-performance core. This core revs up fast and delivers insane flare, giving you the kind of hook that turns heads and breaks records. It’s asymmetric, it’s powerful, and it’s everything you need to crush even the heaviest oil patterns. It’s designed to give you the strongest motion of any ball in your bag.

Coercion™ HFS Reactive

Combining the physics of the Predator V2 with the chemistry of the new Coercion HFS (High Friction Solid) cover stock, the Jackal Ghost elevates heavy oil performance. Coercion HFS is the most aggressive cover stock to date on a bowling ball in the Jackal product line. Turned with a 3000 Grit Lss Finish, bowlers will see both excellent mid-lane read and unbelievable continuation. When you want to take your bowling performance to the next level, you want high-quality MOTIV bowling balls, like the Jackal Ghost.  Get the top performance and hook on the lane that you’ve always needed.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

For a bowler with high ball speed or those with lower rev rates, the Jackal Ghost serves as an outstanding benchmark option due to the cleaner cover and controllable motion down lane.  The versatility of drilling offered by the Predator V2 also makes the Ghost a great benchmark piece for speed dominant bowlers.

  • Balanced

Players who are balanced in their speed to rev rate ratio find the Ghost to be a must have for fresh oil and longer patterns.  The Jackal Ghost is ideal for balanced bowlers to use in a variety of lower friction environments.

  • Rev Dominant

Over the past several years AJ Johnson and EJ Tackett have proven that the Jackal Ghost is a must have for the rev dominant player.  Due to the coverstock being moderately clean, a rev dominant player is able to use the Jackal Ghost without worrying about it “burning up” or getting too forward down lane like so many heavy oil asymmetrical balls. If that sounds nice to you, then you’ll definitely want to pick up a new Ghost bowling ball from Motiv Bowling before you go back to the lanes.

    The Motiv Halo Ball!

The Ghost may not be the biggest hooking, earliest rolling, strongest flipping, or prettiest revving thing down the lane. The ball is an amazing blend of skid/hook/roll and in my eye offers the best front to back read on fresh and oiler patterns. Lets face it the ball has been out for 5 years and you may want to pass on this for newer stuff.

Punched this up with my default strong asymmetrical layout 50x5x40, approx. 5x4x3 VLS. The motion that stands out the most for me as opposed to many other asymmetrical balls on the market is the midlane transition from oil to dry, it’s a rather long subtle arc before making a hard turn to the roll phase. Most top end equipment sacrifices downlane motion for traction or amp the cover so much you’ll need to lineup a zone left (right handed) to find enough oil to push it downlane. I found the ball to be so controllable in the midlane that when the time came to drill another I punched up a 70x5x35 just to get a bit more length and faster response to dry.

Comparisons… Many will attempt to compare the now discontinued Rogue Assassin which has the same marketed coverstock but whether cover or core the Rogue starts rolling sooner and has significantly less down lane. The Flare way earlier and rounder still. And finally the Legacy which also sees the ball transition the soonest and is far more forward rolling. As a Jackal it stands a lot on it’s own as the lineup prior never really fit my game (high rev).

Final thoughts… The ball oozes continuation which isn’t very typical of asymmetric cores letting you know this cover and combination is something special. Even though I try to find the best attributes with every ball there’s very few I pump and the Ghost deserves my highest recommendations. Don’t pass this one up.

    Jackal Ghost…Full Stop!!

A buddy turned me on to Motiv a few years ago and I watched my league average go from the 180’s to just shy of 200. During that time, I tried the Alpha Jackal, Trident Abyss, Trident Nemesis, Jackal Legacy, Pride and Venom Shock. But then I found an older ball Motiv has been pumping out for five years now the Jackal Ghost…Full Stop!

I have a weak wrist so I don’t get a lot of revs so I need a strong ball to make up for it. I walked right from the pro shop to a lane and, right out of the box freshly drilled, cranked out a 245. Three weeks later I rolled my first honor score with an 814 series. This ball is incredible. It’s a 3000 grit matte finish ball that cuts through oil like a warm knife through butter so after a month or two of league bowling I use Motiv’s Power Gel Scuff. The Power Gel Scuff removes the oil off the surface of the ball and helps restore the ball to the 3000 grit out-of-the-box finish.

Love the Jackal Ghost and I love that Motiv makes a product that helps keep the ball aggressive wee in and week out.

    Simply the best!

Maybe the best ball I have ever thrown. I'm on my second one now. The old cliches of strong, predictable, and continuous thru the pocket all apply here. Responds to hand/wrist positions better than any ball I've thrown. No honor scores for me but the ball is money in oilier conditions.

    Had to get Another!

I bought this ball when it first came out quite a few years back and had a lot of success with it. Unfortunately it cracked so I could no longer use it. Normally I would just move on and get something else, but I loved it so much that I decided to just buy another one. It’s that good. There’s a reason why this ball has been in the lineup for so long and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Smooth and controllable, but also shapes quite a bit down lane. Not to mention is hits like a truck! You just don’t see that in a lot of bowling balls. This one is just special.

    THE Jackal you need

If you haven't thrown anything in Motiv's Jackal line but are interested then get this ball. It will absolutely convince you. The Predator core is a killer and this ball just ends up being so versatile even when the lane oil breaks down. You can throw this ball out when the oil is heavier and it will come roaring back. If youre a player that loves to throw out and in the Ghost will definitely give you the wow factor and just always seems to find a way back to the pocket. I don't love this ball for playing more straight up the lane because it just creates so much hook and angle but if you're speed dominant you can get some good looks that way with this ball for sure.

There's a reason it's the longest running asym on the market right now after just celebrating it's 5th year going. This ball is GOOD.
