The Blue Coral Venom™ is the first ever hybrid asymmetric found in the 10-year history of the Venom™ line. The latest stage of evolution in the wildly successful Venom™ line, the Blue Coral Venom™ focuses on versatility and benchmark reaction for moderately high friction surfaces. An upgrade to the Venom™ Recoil, the Blue Coral Venom™ provides more traction in the oil with a stronger and more continuous down lane motion.

With the Coercion™ MFH Reactive cover, the Motiv Blue Coral Venom™ provides plenty of length through the front of the lane, while picking up in the middle of the lane with a smooth and controllable transition. This hybrid cover is remarkable thanks to its ability to provide traction in the oil, without sacrificing control down lane. This performance provides the strength and incredible versatility that the Venom™ line is known for.

Versatility is also what makes the Gear™ APG core special.  Its low differential and asymmetry allow the Blue Coral Venom™ bowling ball to attack the pins from shallower angles using a more aggressive cover stock.  Originally deployed because weight holes were being eliminated, the slight asymmetry of this core gives ball drillers more options than a typical symmetric design.

WHEN TO USE:

  • Speed Dominant Bowlers: For speed dominant bowlers, this will be a medium dry lane ball for use at shallow angles.  While many balls for medium-dry to dry lanes tend to skip past the break point for speed dominant bowlers, the high performance coverstock on the Blue Coral Venom™ will have no trouble gripping the lane.  Additionally, the Gear™ APG core allows players who like to play straighter to do so with more ease.  This should be a great ball for speed dominant players to play more direct on fairly dry lanes.

  • Balanced Bowlers:  Bowlers with speed and rev rate that match will find many uses for the Blue Coral Venom™, due to the versatility it offers.  This Venom™ has more traction in the oil than any before it.  The Blue Coral Venom™ has more traction in oil than the Venom™ Shock, and offers much more control than the Fatal Venom™.  Balanced bowlers will be able to use the Blue Coral Venom™ from a variety of angles on medium to medium-dry lanes when other Venoms™ can’t dig in the oil, but other high performance balls are just too strong.

  • Rev Dominant Bowlers:  For rev dominant bowlers the Blue Coral Venom™ is a perfect benchmark ball.  Due to lower speed or higher rev rates, players of this classification often need to “ball down” from what balanced or speed dominant bowlers would use.  While the Blue Coral Venom™ is classified as a medium-dry oil ball, for those who are rev dominant it is a benchmark that offers moderately clean and controllable ball motion.

Here at Motiv Bowling, we want you to excel when you step out on the lane, and there’s no better way to do that than by using one of our high-quality, high-performance bowling balls. Whether you’re just starting out or have been a bowling pro for years, we’re sure to have something that’s right for you and your skill level!

    Please don't go!

This ball has bailed me out of SO much in tourney play I can't even tell someone. Funny transition, dual pattern, very cliffed, and Urethane carry down all are easily handled by this ball.

Being a hybrid, it's a bit of an over under ball. Heavy oil, it still picks up and reads, then when it does see friction it makes the turn. Sounds normal, right?

Then Dry lanes, somehow it doesn't pick up early, and makes the right motion down lane where I want it.

Traffic on the lanes? Again, somehow it's not a big deal, it floats through the "dirty" areas and picks up just right.

If I get "lost" on the lanes during transition, this is the ball I can ALWAYS grab and get a grasp on what is going on.

This will be the first ball I will try to find a new in box to put on the shelf for if and when my current ball has a bad day.

If you are on the fence, this is a ball I would highly suggest to anyone.

    300 Monster

I've been bowling now for 3 years, and throw nothing but Motiv. I got the Blue Coral Venom last year and loved it from day one. The smoothness and reliability of this Venom is so far for me unmatched. It slides a little bit too much on the fresh but once the fresh is broken down this ball will make you slap your lead off for not throwing the same. 2 300 games with it and my high series of 778. My favorite ball to date. Thank you Motiv for producing high quality products.

My second ball I’ve used from the venom line and I enjoy it more than I liked my shock. Started using the ball about halfway through my second game of league and it feels like I’m still using my benchmark ball.

    Transition Ball

As previously discussed, having only purchased and thrown Motiv Bowling balls in 2024 the coral shock has been a wonderful addition to my nine ball arsenal. During league or tournaments, when the mid lane starts to read too much after throwing my Venom Shock I transition to the coral which pushes through the midland nicely and still has The asymmetrical core to give me the nice strong back end finish and pin carry.

Works great on the standard house shot in league. Has plenty of pop and is consistent. Various drilling options really allow you to fine tune to your style. Great ball, great results.
