The traditional solid bowling ball is no longer good enough.  Enter the new EVOKE MAYHEM.  After the absolute domination of the Evoke Hysteria, the challenge was to build another Evoke as versatile and successful.  That meant breaking the normal rules.  Instead of starting with a solid coverstock and tweaking it, MOTIV worked backwards from the Propulsion MXV Pearl coverstock—the cover that made the Hysteria special—and asked a different question: How do we formulate this to make it hit harder, read earlier, and still keep the down-lane shape people loved?  The result was a new type of solid shell that offers a bit more length through the front of the lane with non-stop drive through the pins!

Overload™ Asymmetrical

The insanely tunable Overload™ asymmetrical core is the most versatile core in the MOTIV line.  It delivers a combination of a low RG, moderate differential, and strong intermediate differential, slotting perfectly below the Predator™ V2 and Apex Predator™ cores featured in the Jackal® series.  The Overload core lets the ball driller dramatically raise or lower the primary differential depending on layout.  That means you can control total flare in a meaningful way.

More flare when you need strength.  Less flare when you need control. That level of adjustability means more bowlers can match up with the Evoke Mayhem in even more environments!

Propulsion MXV Solid

“We spent a long time testing this one,” said Brett Spangler, MOTIV’s PBA Tour Rep. “There was a lot of pressure after the Hysteria won everything last year. The solution was working backwards from the pearl Hysteria cover, which isn’t how we usually test for solids.”  Then we added Duramax additive technology, allowing the Evoke Mayhem to stay dull longer and maintain performance over longer periods.  The result is a different type of solid coverstock for Motiv; a shell that provides more length and down lane motion than the Leverage™ family of covers, but substantially more traction than Propulsion pearls.

When to Use

  • Speed Dominant

    Bowlers with exceptional speed or lower rpm will find the Evoke Mayhem useful on moderate oil fresh conditions and often during transition.  The added angularity of this solid makes it a nice option for speed dominant players who find most solids to be too smooth. 

  • Balanced

    Bowlers whose speed and rev rate match will love the Evoke Mayhem when their Evoke Hysteria is just a bit too clean or angular.  The Evoke Mayhem will be a fantastic option earlier in play with the Evoke Hysteria as a perfect go-to after the oil is depleted.

  • Rev Dominant

    A cleaner and faster response solid is a valuable tool for rev dominant players who sometimes get forced into pearls too early in competition and are forced to sacrifice control.  Rev dominant players should use the Evoke Mayhem when they are creating some angle on fresh, but are not ready to step all the way left and let the angular stuff fly.

    If you were a fan of the original Evoke, you already know how special the Overload Asymmetrical core is. The Evoke Mayhem takes that same reliability and gives it a serious upgrade. The Mayhem introduces the Propulsion MXV Solid shell. It keeps that signature "first ball out of the bag" predictability but adds a noticeable amount of extra "pop" through the pins. It reads the mid-lane beautifully on fresh oil yet manages to stay more continuous and responsive down-lane than its predecessor allowing you to move deeper and still get the corners out. As an added bonus, with Duramax technology, this ball stays "dull" longer, meaning you get that fresh-from-the-box benchmark performance for much longer. It’s everything you loved about the Evoke, just cleaner, stronger, and more durable.

    If you like to cause Mayhem down the lanes…

    This Propulsion cover is SO strong. The Overload core already speaks for itself but this combination has been one of the best combinations Motiv has released in the last few years.

    Personally, I would pick the Evoke Hysteria out of the Evoke line, however, having both of these balls is not a bad choice at all. I have different layouts on them but I both still give me amazing results on the line.

    If you glow bowl, you will definitely enjoy watching the ball down the lane as the neon lights will give a show on this cover.

    Mayhem it causes

    This ball is so perfectly designed. I miss my mark to the left it still holds the line to the pocket. Miss to the right and it comes back enough to hit the pocket. All around an awesome ball. First set of games was a 264 270 215. Nice little 749 scratch series.

    The Mayhem takes overload core and wraps it perfectly in the propulsion solid cover and makes a great alternative to the Hysteria.
