At the center of the Venom Hysteria is the Gear™ Core. Arguably the most proven, low RG, low Differential symmetrical core in bowling. This is the same engine that made the Venom Shock a legend. Speed dominant players looking for a ball that can serve as a ball down for their Evoke Hysteria will appreciate the Venom Hysteria. The lower flaring symmetrical core should be a great option after the Evoke Hysteria. The Venom Hysteria creates more down lane motion than a Venom Shock, but is not as angular or aggressive as a Nebula, giving the bowler a weaker, but comparable motion to their Evoke Hysteria.
For the balanced bowlers, the Venom Hysteria is a pearl to have in the bag to fill so many gaps. When Venom Shocks are too early or smooth, the Venom Hysteria will have no problem stepping into that spot. Additionally, when the Nebula is too angular or aggressive and a tamer shape is needed, the Venom Hysteria is ideal. Lower volume or higher fiction patterns that don’t allow for the use of a Venom Shock have now met their match.
Those whose revs overwhelm their ball speed will appreciate the versatility and control given by combining the Propulsion MXV cover and Gear core. See MoreGreat ball! I was looking for something that was a bit earlier than anything I have in my bag. Got this ball less than two weeks ago. My second set with it I shot 300/800. It's smooth and consistent. The best thing is I haven't had a shot just jump several boards left on me in the third game like my other asymmetrical balls tend to do. It's my first Motiv ball and definitely won't be my last.

See MoreI drilled my Apex 70* x 4 x 40*, uncertain what to expect. I have never matched up well with the Jackal series, but the core with a higher Rg intrigued me enough to give this one a try. Historically I have been a fan of Motiv’s dual density cores. When I say repeated surprises, what I mean is it wasn’t one aspect of this ball’s motion that surprised me. It was several. While I didn’t have much expectation on overall strength, that was the first surprise. While not the strongest overall motion I have seen, it was definitely more than I anticipated. I was comfortably swinging the ball immediately, something I have struggled to do with anything in my house all year. The next surprise came when missing wide. Unlike my Jackal’s of the past, the Apex provided PLENTY of recovery to get back to the pocket AND carry. I was also pleasantly surprised by the hold the Apex provided when I pulled a shot. Not only did it stay right and hit the pocket, but carried very well (even when I felt like I deserved a corner pin). As a bonus, the colors Motiv chose makes the Apex look really good going down the lane. I would recommend this ball for anyone looking for a medium/high strength asymmetric ball that hits/carries well and offers plenty of forgiveness. I will be throwing this ball a lot.
See MoreDon’t be fooled by the lower price tag. The Thrill series is just as much quality as any other Motiv ball. They hook plenty & hit hard. I have been using this ball on a house pattern for a couple years now & it shows no sign of slowing down. It mows pins over, period.
